with the way things are going, my next computer is going to have to be a cyberdeck made from random parts i pick up in a huaqiangbei e-market (⌒_⌒;)

wrote a new blog about my linux adventures, building a computer, and homepage updates lately: https://ellesho.me/page/website/now/#serial-experiments

@e11e Your aesthetic is giving me 2yn vibes https://www.youtube.com/2ynthetic
2yn

hello, welcome to 2ynthetic Systems. i am often referred to as “2yn” by the other Employees. on this channel, i enjoy documenting and sharing my daily life. above all else, i enjoy creating anything, whatever form that takes. you may think of “2ynthetic” as something artificially created, or, alternatively, a coming together of disjointed parts to form a new, coherent Whole. here at 2ynthetic Systems, we believe Creating is a gentle yet effective way to access our truest Selves, unlocking the highest levels of our innate compassion, and thereby resisting the systems that seek to fragment our attention and energy. we believe in shaping the future we desire, rather than resigning ourselves to the established systems. everyone is welcome here. we hope that on this channel you will find rest, inspiration, motivation, or simply a bit of peace. to become an (unpaid) Employee of 2YNSYS, opt-in the the free Employees Only Newsletter: https://2ynthetic.systems/employees-only-optin

@e11e Hope you're doing well! 🙏🏾
@e11e
Fun! ✨
Hope you don't mind me asking - what are we looking at on the far right? And where do the cables go off-screen at the top of the photo?

@da5nsy do u mean on the top right hand side? that's just an ssd pcb with an m.2 drive in it plugged into the pi 4 (⌒_⌒;)

the two cables at the top are just going to the power outlet. the black cable is the power for the pi and the purple cable is power for the ipad mini

@e11e aha ok! Nice! Thank you! 💖
@e11e That butterfly clip...brilliant. Thank you!
@djtoebeans whatever works (⌒_⌒;)

@e11e @mayank Was it difficult to get all those parts specifically to match the hair clip? 😆

(It's a lovely setup and palette! 💜)

@mez thanks! it wasn't too difficult – most of my stuff is pretty coordinated (๑>ᴗ<๑)
@e11e this is the most aesthetic thing I've ever seen
@e11e holy shit i just looked at your website
@xyhhx thank u for visiting!
@e11e omg was just wondering why you hadn’t shown up for a while, and now that you have with such a surprise!! this setup is absolutely beautiful 💜💜
@lok thanks! ♡ i've been on a biweekly blogging schedule for a while now but i've also been posting on social much less in between so maybe that's why it seems like i'm not around much ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@e11e oh❗️ seems like I have a lot of blog posts to read
@lok enjoy! also, u can follow the rss feed if u don't want to miss any posts (⌒_⌒;)
@e11e Genuinely inspirational.
@e11e "Oh, my God, you didn't turn into a gargoyle, did you?"
@xenolon it's the opposite (⌒_⌒;) i'm taking the computers off my body and out of my pockets and putting back it on my desktop
@e11e This is so cool! Your blog was really interesting and I hope you're doing ok ❤️ Much love and good luck with your projects!
@captvimesalive thank u for reading ^-^ and thank u for the kind words <3

@e11e i swapped to hyprland to check it out, but i might go back to sway as I'm in the same boat as you:

hyprland has more features/overhead than i actually need.

@cameron do u have any suggestions for a good alternative for hyprlock besides swaylock or gtklock? (⌒_⌒;)
@e11e for wayland, those are really it as far as i'm aware
@e11e woah using a hair clip on cables is a great idea dang!!
@valpackett (◕‿◕)♡ cables are just computer hair anyways (๑>ᴗ<๑)
@e11e amazing setup right there. 🌸
Cute cable binder.
@helge (◕‿◕)♡

@tpaau17db ( ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ )

@e11e That's so cool! I love your style btw (and your website!)

My computer dream is to own a house (or a single room pleeaase) and then string the computer parts across the walls (plus important blinky lights) so I can really feel like im doing *Serial Experiments*

@cxxvii thank u!

same, but for now i'll just make little computers and work on my little corner of the internet (⌒_⌒;)

@e11e I have recently found that the look and feel of a system is actually pretty important to me, as otherwise I just don’t want to use it.

So seeing the pretty setups and configs you keep creating is pretty motivating to me to also seriously try putting something together :3

@jana after i've spent so many years in apple's ecosystem, it's been refreshing to break out of that sameness ^-^

i look forward to seeing what u put together!

oh, i saw u updated your website recently. this reminded me to add u to my links section on my homepage

@e11e Yeah, makes sense.

Will see, first I gotta figure out a base distribution to use for this attempt. I am also currently on Fedora, but eh, don’t really wanna use it for this, so might reinstall arch :D

Aww, thank you :3!

@e11e Will it have wifi or are you keeping it third edition?
@Zenter it is connected to wifi! ^-^
@e11e what a great homepage :)
@inlovewithpda thanks for visiting! i like your palm pilot website ^-^
