❗️The #EU has approved the #19th sanctions package against #Russia
This was announced on #X by the #European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, #Kaja_Kallas.
"We have just adopted our #19th sanctions package. The targets include, in particular, #Russian banks, cryptocurrency exchanges, organizations in #India and #China. The #EU is restricting the movements of #Russian diplomats to counter attempts at destabilization.
It is becoming increasingly difficult for #Putin to finance this war,"
The document provides for:
▪️ a ban on the supply of #Russian liquefied natural gas (#LNG) to the #EU;
▪️ a complete ban on all crypto services for #Russian citizens;
▪️ restrictions on the travel of #Russian diplomats;
▪️ the inclusion of 117 ships of the so-called #Russian “#shadow_fleet” on the sanctions list;
▪️ sanctions against banks in #Kazakhstan and #Belarus, as well as four companies linked to #China's oil industry.
By the end of 2025, the #EU will begin discussions on the #20th sanctions package.
