The new #Lomo #35mm #film #camera looks v fine indeed and 32mm is one of my favoured lenses. No idea about the quality of the lens yet, nor the build quality of the camera and the materials used.
In many ways the #Lomo MC-A #analog #photo #camera is what I was hoping #Pentax17 to be with #manual #focus, #aperture and #shutter speed #controls and many #creative #exposure options. Unfortunately Pentax took a different direction but it's good to see Lomo is picking up the ball.
For my most recent #photo #project (accompanying the #album Korduma Kippuvad Vastused) I've used #analog #Lomo #camera Sprocket Rocket. It's a 35mm panoramic camera with very simple lens, only two (!) aperture settings and a just a single shutter speed. However, it was a lovely experience because it's fully #manual camera. You can do a lot with that. I think getting this balance right is the challenge for creating a new analog photo camera in this day and age.
This is where #Pentax17 failed for me as a concept. Ricoh/Pentax developed a nice #analog #photo #camera with strict #automatic #controls over the #aperture and #shutter speeds that allow only verry little creativity via the #manual #exposure compensation. I'd argue that this is not enough for ppl working with film medium. In fact it's insulting. Camera manufacturer is basically saying that you have no say in making a #photograph other than pointing to an object. Let the camera do the rest.
