@kcfromaustcrime I really enjoy this series because my family came from the Clare district and the descriptions of the scenery connect directly with memory. Plots are good too although they feel like they end a little abruptly. It's a long time since I left Sth Australia but childhood memories are all there.
@CaraBruar Oh that's good to know - I've always felt that the sense of place was incredibly strong - it's where he spent his childhood as well IIRC, but it certainly matches up with the Wimmera and Vic Mallee of my memory - which is not so different from "over the border". He does like to wrap things up though - no mucking about :)
