Listen, my dear brothers and sisters! Did not God choose the poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that he promised to those who love him? But you have dishonored the poor! Are not the rich oppressing you and dragging you into the courts? (James 2:5-6)

Unfortunately, #Christians can fall prey to #disregarding the #poor and holding them in #contempt.

Some want to blame the poor for their predicament and to justify why they might have less than others.

James the Lord's brother made it very clear where he expected Christians to maintain their sympathies.

It is not for Christians to judge or shame the poor; Christians are called upon to provide for those in need.
