I'm about to embark on my return journey, departing right before a nor'easter hits. Time for another day of flying adventure.

I made my escape from New Bedford to Albany and it was pretty uneventful. I did go through some clouds on the way but that's why I got my IFR rating. I honestly can't recommend that rating enough.
I forgot to update but I stopped in Dunkirk. I don't recommend it. Anyway then on to Toledo executive which has a Halloween theme in their FBO. Very spooky.
Tail winds bless me, I'll probably be home tonight.
I spent waaaay too long flying directly into the sun, which wasn't fun. But eventually the sun set and I thought my life would be easier BUT at that moment my GPS failed. I was in visual conditions so not a big deal, Rockford approach offered to vector me to Janesville (my fuel stop). I elected to tune the Janesville VOR and use that ... which didn't go super well as the needle would sway for no reason. VORs definitely aren't maintained well.
Anyway, landed, got fuel, took off VFR for the last 1 hour leg and landed at my home airport. An exhausting day but I am home.
@JohnOCFII Leg lengths were mostly based on "How long do I feel I could tolerate sitting here without peeing myself". Stops varied from food options, fuel prices, hotel prices, that fit within a "window" of leg length.
Pretty much just pulled up Foreflight and looked at places between me and my final destination that were within a timespan of distance I felt tolerable. Then I would look up the FBO and see if there was food or free cars to get food and what the local town was like if I wanted food. I'd say my success rate was pretty good, except Dunkirk which I wouldn't go back to for either food nor fuel.
