running docker on a raspberry pi
@i0null Now run a ML model in that container 😵‍💫
@i0null Its a Raspi, why only one container?
@sigi714 @i0null Surely you actually have a bunch of these strapped together with a container hat running kubernetes or some shit...
@crazyeddie @i0null Just one with WhaleDeck running >.<
@crazyeddie @sigi714 @i0null a single raspberry pi being orchestrated by kubernetes is a very homelab-core idea

@sigi714 @arrieseveneight @i0null Any therapist with any openings to see me probably got straight C's and believes in the power of crystals...which maybe I do to in my schitzotypal way but, those people are fucking nuts!

And all that goes into a database and HIPAA don't mean shit anymore.

So yes, I ask the various AIs that write all the articles on the web now what to do. "Get into hobbies," they say :p

I got nix to build a nix for my raspberry that joined the net and avahi hello last night

@i0null HAHAHAAA, this is awesome 😂
@i0null
When the job posting says "Bespoke Kubernetes orchestrator"
@i0null that’s the forgejo container on my old underpowered synology ds220j
@kwramm truth. NAS containers are always sluggish. I used to run pi.hole on one and it was always crashing.
@i0null it’s actually pretty stable… as long as I am the only user 😁 also it’s hosted on spinning platters, that really adds to the slowness

@i0null 😂

im amused by their positions

- one steers the boat but can't see where they're going
- a few see where they're going but can't steer the boat
- a few see the person steering the boat but can't see where they're going or steer the boat

without meaningful communication and cooperation, every single one of them would get dead.

@bweller @i0null Isn't that the definition of an "AI startup"?

#aibubble #aistartup

@the_wub @bweller @i0null yup, it is! Pic is "AI startup in doker on Raspberry Pi"
@bweller @i0null and you didn’t even mention the tow line

@binford2k 🤣

didn't even notice it. this picture gets better and better

@i0null

@i0null This is the official way to run Home Assistant now
@i0null you’re missing a few extra containers there 😆

@i0null

The container is labelled "tex" - I guess that's the full #texlive distribution with lots of optional packages including all the font packages?

@i0null come on lil buddy you got this

@i0null

if it works, it works

@i0null Try on an STM32MP and you will know what to complain about 🤣
@i0null 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

@i0null I've got four Docker containers running Home Assistant with Wireguard and mqtt on a RPi4 comfortably.

I run my KVMs on Intel and AMD machines. Docker really is lightweight IMO.

@i0null
Proudly, "it me!"
Except on a rockpro64
@i0null I'll print that out and hang the picture in my office.
@i0null I didn't now I shouldn't run my entire homlab on a RPi 4 with 8 docker containers...
@i0null Ah are you running a tEx container?
@i0null
Been there, done that, a Pi4 can run multiple containers just fine, and Pi5 is even better given 8 to 16GB RAM.
@i0null I would have never personally chosen to do that, but Home Assistant OS is made like that, and as long as it works fine I'm okay with that. 🤣
@i0null So many comments, and no one has noticed before this container is for running TeX?
@i0null Possibly contentious opinion: VMs were invented to work-around Operating Systems that couldn't multitask, or Operate. I'm mainly thinking of IBM mainframes, and Microsoft.
@i0null 😂 😂
so true 😂
@i0null OMG, this is me!!!
Last night I tried overclocking my Raspberry Pi because my container is so heavy, it turned my tiny Pi fan into a jet engine on takeoff.
@i0null And should you use docker, just to run a TeX installation?
@i0null I owe a lot to the people of https://blog.hypriot.com/
