"#LetitiaJames criminally charged in #Trump’s latest effort to punish rivals"

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/oct/09/criminal-charges-letitia-james-new-york-attorney-general

A number of prominent #blackwomen are targeted by Trump's ugly vindictiveness

Know what #racialEquality would look like in the #USA?

If James wrote 20 ALL CAP #socialMedia screeds at 3 AM, like Trump, in response

And it didn't count against her

She would never, she's not a #manchild

It makes you think

About #humiliation, #anger, #whitePrivilege, being #black in #America

#BryanStevenson:

@benroyce I can say, had I been in his shoes, I would have reacted a lot differently, but that would have affected negatively on the clients case. 😞

@benroyce

Thank you. I woke up angry, and even meditation didn't calm me. Then I saw this video, and it spoke to me, made sense to me, gave me perspective and hope, and armed me with the right mindset to face the day and the struggle ahead.

@purrperl

that's the magic of #grace

we all struggle to hold onto grace, because the world is so ugly and full of constant abuses

just do your best

i struggle too to have more grace in my life

we all do

you're not alone Ashwin

@benroyce
Favoriting this because of the bravery and dedication of Mr. Stevenson in the video. I’m so sick and tired of humans not treating others as fellow human beings and peers. Or just simply, “judging a book by its cover” for goodness sake instead of “jumping to conclusions” just ask “who are you?” But then of course, these judges/attorneys are probably so bigoted that they won’t even believe what they hear. Makes me so discouraged on the bigotry of this country.

@em_and_future_cats

don't be discouraged

look at how bryan stevenson handled it

follow his example:

rise above it

don't be beaten down by this ugliness

i know, it's hard

@benroyce Thank you. Yes I will try to keep that in mind 🩷
I know one thing for sure is that I won’t let this stand with anybody who associates with me. Especially family. I’m not shy to call people out when someone says something bigoted in my presence. (I still have a lot to learn because I don’t know every phrase or term that is bigoted for different groups, but that’s not going to stop me).

@benroyce

that was great, thank you for sharing

@benroyce It's completely unacceptable is what it is.
@benroyce - 100% on point, and 100% right. We need to do better.
@benroyce Thanks for this video. Do you happen to know which interview this was from? I’d love to watch the whole thing.

@JasonAnthonyGuy

it's from 2 weeks ago, an interview with katie couric
