Wow.
This Republican mom just took Mike Johnson to task
Will it matter to him? Probably not. But this is the human cost of performance politics

@flexghost This is the reality of being a caregiver-parent of medically complex #children in 2025. The medications and treatments these children have are, literally, the difference between life and death.
More people need to see and understand that #mikejohnson, #Trump, and these other #Republican #ghouls are working hard to push #eugenicist #policies and #legislation.

@flexghost Oh, without a doubt. Frankly, that's one of the most upsetting parts.
As a caregiver-parent myself, some of the other upsetting and truly eternally frustrating things about living in this country is just how fucking steeped and saturated in ableism our social systems are.
Those who have been elected and appointed to positions of leadership (often times) give zero fucks. "It's someone else's problem."
Whether it's providing equitable access to municipal events and services, schools which are free from ADA violations, asbestos, black mold, and exploding sewer pipes, improving processes and client experience to navigate state systems for disability support.
Or anything else. And yes, those are all things I've had to deal with as a parent of a medically complex child.
But, gods forbid some senator/mayor/judge's kid is disabled. All of a sudden the previously locked doors are now wide open.
This isn't a fucking joke. This is life or death for millions of #Americans and these assholes politicians not only don't care, they are looking forward to getting rid of them.
This yes man could not care less…
FWIW He has aged quite visibly in the past 10 days
It doesn't affect him.
It never will.
And maybe it never has.
At some point on the way to the top, you shed unnecessary compassion for others.
The really sad thing is that they smile, not to hide their compassion, but because they look down on us and our ridiculousness.
And sorry,
they've always done this.
He may not look like it, but I hardly think he cares.
