@flexghost Oh, without a doubt. Frankly, that's one of the most upsetting parts.
As a caregiver-parent myself, some of the other upsetting and truly eternally frustrating things about living in this country is just how fucking steeped and saturated in ableism our social systems are.
Those who have been elected and appointed to positions of leadership (often times) give zero fucks. "It's someone else's problem."
Whether it's providing equitable access to municipal events and services, schools which are free from ADA violations, asbestos, black mold, and exploding sewer pipes, improving processes and client experience to navigate state systems for disability support.
Or anything else. And yes, those are all things I've had to deal with as a parent of a medically complex child.
But, gods forbid some senator/mayor/judge's kid is disabled. All of a sudden the previously locked doors are now wide open.
This isn't a fucking joke. This is life or death for millions of #Americans and these assholes politicians not only don't care, they are looking forward to getting rid of them.

I have no power to help this woman, but he does. He doesn't have power to make the Senate vote correctly, but he's a few phone calls and texts from getting this woman some real life support. The type of support regular people can't obtain, but a blowhard GOP speaker sure can. The amount of money spent on his hair, makeup, outfit, aides, and transportation for this brief event alone could probably help her a lot.

Scott Knowles@flexghost It will be on democrats to expose Trump and republicans as the cause of people's financial situations, especially if the ACA tax credit expires and families are facing 2-3x higher insurance premiums, and the cost of living has reduced families' purchasing power. Democrats will need younger, energized leadership team. They won't get it from current incompetent leadership and Medicare generation team. Schumer & Jeffries should resign or be ousted this year. There's plenty younger democrats ready. JMO
