There is a tendency to elect people viewed as 'highly qualified' to office as democratic representatives. While that sounds great in theory in reality it creates a governing system that is disconnected from the reality the majority experience.

We need more service workers, plumbers, and teachers in office... and less lawyers, economists, and professional politicians.

@RantingCanuck The costs to participate is why we don't see more average citizens running for public office. It's not cheap to pay to play politics. The financial factor keeps poor folks out of the game.

We still seriously need #ElectoralReforms because no matter who runs - FPTP has failed citizens & benefited corruption in government.
