Fresh Oak, Mayfield Oak, Lake Agnes Oak, and Arnica Lake Oak are also quite textured.

Indiana Dunes Hickory, Ledge Point Pecan, and Secret Harbour Oak feel the nicest/smoothest, and just feel more “real.”

Stirling Oak and Dusk Cherry are slightly textured, but still feel nice, I guess. I just don’t understand why they bother adding texture when it means more cleaning. LVP is *supposed* to be easier maintenance compared to real wood!

Also I just want to say I appreciate everyone who has weighed in with your opinions. I know it’s difficult to offer ideas and opinions when you can’t really tell the true color/feel of things like I can, but I’m just so pleased to be chatting about interior design things with all of y’all.
I like to know what delights my fedi friends, design-wise. Let’s look at beautiful things and figure out why we like them.

I found a picture of Loki close enough to the wood floors so you can see how orange they are.

He was once featured on the icanhazcheeseburger site, his one claim to internet fame. It was a picture of him lounging on the floor, and someone else had captioned it, “Wood-grained kitty is wood-grained.”

So yeah, our wood floors are Tabby Cat Orange!  🙀

And now today is your Loki Day!

I took a better pic of the Ledge Point Pecan LVP floor sample away from our orangey floors, and in full sunlight.

I like it! It works the best with our dark trim and looks ok next to our real wood floors, which happen to be pecan.

While it’s going to be jarring regardless—the orange and small plank size of the real pecan means nothing is going to be a seamless transition—I’m hoping at least matching the same species will look somewhat intentional.
