CASPUpdate on Ye Olde Swiss Cottage
Ye Olde Swiss Cottage, the pub in the centre of the Swiss Cottage roundabout, is due to go up for sale.
As an “asset of community value” the local community have six months to try to put together a bid to buy it before it goes for sale on the open market.
The Belsize Society, who had previously made the “asset of community value” submission, have lodged an “expression of interest”.
A pub has been on the site since at least the 1830s, although the current version is not nearly that old.
The community is worried that if the pub is lost, then the nearby cinema will also close.
