I seem to be turning into an apple at the moment. There are loads of the blighters around, and a neighbour, who has more than is reasonable for one household, keeps putting out bags of windfalls for people to take for free.

After the storm we had here over the last day or so, there is yet another saucepan full of stewed apple on the hob, and we are running out of crumble topping...
