I was reminded that today is the 89th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street, when the Jewish, communist and working class inhabitants of the East End in London united to fight with the police and the black shirts to stop the fascists marching through their neighborhood. They effectively brought to an end the rise of Oswald Mosley and his "British Union Of Fascists".

We really shouldn't have to be going through all that shit again!

@patrickhadfield Well, FSVO "an end".

The British Union Of Fascists has since rebranded itself many times, through NF, BNP, EDL, UKIP, #Brexshit Party, and now Reform. (I'm sure I've forgotten a few from that list. The Tories are in and out of this list at various times - they're in it today, with the announcement of the intent to leave the ECHR.)

Same people, different labels. As you can tell by observing the parade of "different" posters in the same windows as the brand changes over the years.

@TimWardCam as I said - we really shouldn't have to be going through all that shit again.
