Macron is a perfect example of how political leaders remain people, with all the complexity and contradiction that entails.
Is he a slimy Blairite third way motherfucker working to break the French social contract and enrich the elites? Yes.
Does he have a commitment to republican values and the rule of law that makes him a fellow traveller on certain issues? Also yes.
