I just released a little two-track single inspired by a found title. I’ve put promo codes in the description so you can download for free.

I know my potential audience will all be listening to the new Taylor Swift but wth 😏

@jet Not sure if I fit your listener demographic (61, M, ex-punk with wife ranging musical tastes) but while I have no desire to listen to Taylor Swift, I do enjoy street photography and wordplay, so am listening to your composition right now in a wet car park outside Rebel Sport*.

*Avoiding the other other option of being the 'trailing' husband supporting the pursuit of the perfect trackpant.

@Buzz haha the perfect listening environment for sure! 😅 Sorry I seem to be permanently sarcastic, thanks for giving it a listen. I have no idea what my audience really is, just enjoyed the absurdity of imagining I was competing with Ms Swift
@jet As the father of four women, my ears have spent much of the last 30 years listening to much of what came between The Spice Girls and Ms Swift. My youngest (mid-20s) is a Swiftie and, as a reluctant background listener, I have yet to find a track that I really warm to/appreciate . I can appreciate the talent and the business smarts but it’s not my cup of tea. 'Downbeat electronic stuff’, on the other hand, is much more in my wheelhouse 😉

@Buzz I try not to give anyone stick for what they do or don’t like, but I do wish I didn’t have to have an opinion on Taylor Swift at all haha! Kinda like having to have opinions about rugby in NZ…

The whole thing of poring over her lyrics for autobiographical references and such makes me feel entirely like an alien. That’s not how I come at music at all!

@jet I feel similarly. I think there's a world of difference between appreciating the songwriter/musician's context and searching out 'hidden' meaning (often, I suspect, to confirm one's own narrative or interpretation). I always enjoy people pontificating on the lyrics of the Cocteau Twins!

Some information about Cocteau Twins lyrics--or lack thereof.

Heh, probably no surprise that the latest email I got that tells me what people I follow have added to their Bandcamp collections includes a bunch of my music mates picking up my new single! 😅 It's free with the promo codes on the page if you want to grab it...
@jet i haven’t listened yet. But that is a killer title.
@emenel it's a company name if that's not obvious! thank you for your ridiculous typographical choice, Downer Reactive!
