Back from seeing Peter Hammill in concert. I first saw him play with VdGG over fifty years ago; I saw him solo over thirty years ago, too.

It was very good tonight, though his songs can be a bit bleak - and he played my favourite of his songs first, so it was downhill from there!

I couldn’t believe it when he starting playing the opening notes to ‘My Room’. That opening lines gets me every time.

@brianlavelle I couldn't help think it must be harrowing to sing those songs night after night - for the audience, it was brilliant but very intense!

@patrickhadfield Agreed. There’s not much light among the shadows there!

@patrickhadfield In my teens I could sing along with every song on Still Life. I had all the lyrics memorized!
