Has anyone here owned a Miele washer-dryer for at least five years and had bad experiences with it? I've heard good things about them and I'm planning on replacing my existing washer-dryer soon. My current one is a Samsung model that has a known design flaw in the condenser that leads to it getting covered in a thick layer of insulation and no longer working (this would be prevented by putting a filter in the right place, or mitigated by making it possible to reach the condenser for cleaning without completely dismantling the machine).

All of the reviews on their web site are from people who had just bought their machine. I'm interested in what they're like after a few years. I've heard from folks who have owned Miele washing machines for 20 years, but no one who has owned one of their combined washer-dryers.

@david_chisnall we’ve had a Miele for nearly 10 years. It replaced a random brand machine that ruined our clothes and developed a smell. The Miele is certainly a better built machine, but combos are inherently compromises between washing and drying. You want a small drum for washing, but a large drum for drying. To compensate, combos dry at higher temps, use more water, and take longer. We found it less reliable, too. Got a dedicated Bosch dryer, and only use the combo for washing now.
