And I assure you, there’s no war happening. There’s daily conflict at the ICE detention center, but that’s one building in a giant metropolis.
I've been sitting in a tent for 15 days now, waiting for Wilsons clowns to sweep me under the rug like they've been doing in almost every city in the country. With Trump declaring war against homeless people at the federal level, people are getting murdered.

The silence is deafning. Always hearing about this country or that one, this group or that one but the silence continues for #homeless people.
(Amendment I) Sorry, you don't have the right to assemble in public space even in protest because your homeless.
(Amendment IV) Sorry, you don't have the right to be served a search warrant when we steal your only way to stay warm and dry.
(Amendment VIII) Sorry, your under arrest for trying to survive in public spaces in the middle of winter/heatwave after the city/state/federal has taken everything from you and there is absolutely no place to go to get out of the weather.
A short time ago, #Trump decided that 770,000 people have no US Constitution rights when he declared it #Illegal2BHomeless across the entire country. Not only do we now have to be on the lookout for city cops, shariffs, state cops, National Guards that also forgot the oath we say when joining the US Military, we have to be looking for every day haters who won't hesitate to kill us for simply not having a paid for place to live.
But the silence continues.

What does it help to acknowledge the words of someone whose first instinct is to lie? It helps nothing to give them that, because they weren’t after it anyway.
Such people live in a different world. They only think in terms of loyalty, which is what they’re after.
Standing them down hurts them a lot more than engaging in polite debate, which makes them see co-operation not protest.
Not getting your loyalty is what drives them mad!

I’m not sure parenting is a requirement. Sure, it has a nice ring to it for PR purposes, but the point (for me) isn’t the PR. I’d drive up to protect people older than myself, not out of maternal instinct, but out of moral imperative. And, when it comes to the need to #resist the more the merrier…

(1.) Assholes can't be shamed. They don't have it in them.
(2.) The Argentine dictatorship was *not*brought down by mothers demonstrating against them. It was brought down by the Argentine masses who were shamed by them into finally doing something about their oppressors. Their oppressors didn't suddenly feel a moral duty to do the right thing. They realized their only choice was to get out or get lynched. Wisely they chose to save their skins.
@jhavok I wasn't there. Anything I say is third hand hearsay. The way I heard it, the Moms and the people they were trying to protect, were dislocated with lot of gas. Next night the Wall of Dads used leaf blowers to disperse the gas.
If any eye witnesses reading this thread would tell it better than I did, it would contribute to history and enlighten us all. Just a suggestion.
"Wall of Moms" refers to a single tactic employed by Portlanders in a specific action in 2020, not moms in general. It didn't shame the feds. They have no shame. So in that sense it failed utterly. But to Portland's eternal credit it inspired the Wall of Dads to resist, not with slogans and symbology, but with direct, nonviolent, physical action, i.e. leaf blowers that dispelled the tear gas.

Not sure what legal actions could be taken on that issue, until we have sufficient control of Congress to make impeachment stick. Sending National Guard against National Guard verges on civil war.
In 2020, the people making arrests never identified themselves or showed authority, so they could have been arrested on numerous charges.

Just imagine say, a Salvadoran gold mining company opening a mine in a conservative Texas town, defended by El Salvador's army and taking zero environmental precautions. Imagine US oil pipelines from the fracking fields switched over to export-only, with the oil simply taken or "bought" for next to nothing and supplies to US refineries cut off. Imagine some of the finished gasoline and diesel being reimported-to be sold for $8 a gallon, only in easily-reached coastal gas stations.
