@stage7 in theory people could take something like #0BSD and add a #antifascist clause of 161 words to it, creating i.e. "#161BSD"…
- Generally one could freely choose a #license pending it's not in conflict with any #upstream / #dependencies if applicable…
#NotLegalAdvice OFC, but unless your license has a #Copyleft clause re: it's #antifascist terms it's more of a symbolic gesture trivially undone by constantly #forking it!
@kkarhan Sure, nobody pretending to be lawyers here, but aren't small gestures the ones that can ignite a spark that causes a larger fire?
The point has always been "I can do nothing to prevent a bad actor from using my work because from the very first moment I release it they will do whatever they please," but at least to make them feel bad about it.
I've been told about https://ethicalsource.dev/licenses/ and it looks very much like what I'm looking for, so I'll read a bit about it to see if it fits me :)
@stage7 personally I do wish for #FLOSS to have more teeth…
The only restrictions I'm aware of are "[legal and/or business] deals that have unexpectably bad terms and conditions" (aimed at exploiting "someones lack of expefience, ability to make informed decisions or socioeconomic situation [of distress]") which mostly aims at criminalizing #PaydayLoans at extortive APRs, rentseeking, discrimination and other tactics preying on #consumers.
- It's more of a #ConsumerProtection thing and almost certainly doesn't apply to #Businesses which are exempt from consumer protection (cuz #B2B aind #B2C!)
Plus #FLOSS licenses ain't the norm (and I'm pretty shure that we rather see #CCSS banned than #AntifascistLicense|s being struck down!)…
- OFC this is #NotLegalAdvice and #speculation, tho OFC one has the freedom to decline business based off objective and/or terms/justifications, like throwing a Neonazi out of a bar.
