Chimney swifts have been gone or at least silent in Nazareth for a month, but today I went down to Bethlehem, 10 miles away, and they were up above chattering all over town as if it were the middle of summer. Why the difference I wonder?

Because of Nazareth's track record on nature I have to wonder if they capped the big communal chimney that swifts were using before and after they separate to nest. If that's it, next summer will be missing part of its sound track. 😢 #birds #swifts
