Hello again,

Ever open a jar of tomato passata for a recipe, only to be left with half a jar sitting in the fridge, destined for the back of the shelf? Today, I'm sharing one of my favourite zero-waste kitchen hacks to make sure every last drop of that passata gets used!

It's a simple, game-changing trick. I just pour the leftover passata into an ice cube tray, cover it, and pop it into the freezer. Once the cubes are solid, I transfer them to a reusable bag. This way, you have perfect, ready-to-use portions of tomato passata anytime you need them! These little flavour cubes can be stored in the freezer for up to three months.

Now, instead of a whole jar, you can grab just what you need for a quick pasta sauce, a soup base, or even to add a rich tomato flavour to a stew.

I hope this tip helps you reduce waste and makes your cooking a little easier!

@natliciousfood I always eat a whole bottle of passata at one time - who'd ever pass that up?

The issue's mainly with regular pasta sauce - those go bad very quickly. My trick is to add some coconut water - it keeps it from molding.

@crystalzenith I would freeze that as well!
