Thinking about my next smartphone, which probably won't be for another year or so. This gives me plenty of time to figure out if a #linuxphone is a viable solution. I might have to pick up a #Ubports supported device to do a test run for a few months.
I've had a #pinephone since launch, but it really wasn't ever truly viable as a daily driver. I do love using it in the keyboard case as a palmtop though.
Is there anyone in the #Fediverse that's using a #linuxphone as a daily driver?
@cdoubleu I’ve been seriously considering #GrapheneOS for my next #Mobile #OS. I realize that it’s not original but I think it’s the closest #viable #OpenSource option
@demiguru it’s a great OS. I’ve been on grapheneOS for over a year now. Before that I was using CalyxOS. The future of graphene and other customer ROMs seems uncertain with the upcoming changes that Google is proposing for Android. Specifically, blocking side loading apps. And, the shenanigans they’re pulling with pixel device trees. In a perfect world, I would just keep using graphene. It really suits my needs.
