Don’t lose track of the idea that while we may live in tumultuous times, they are also full of miracles.

Huntington's disease successfully treated for first time

One of the most devastating diseases finally has a treatment that can slow its progression and transform lives, tearful doctors tell BBC.

@tek 👍👍👏🤸🏿‍♂️🕺🏻

@tek

this, just wow, not a cure (YET) but a huge lifeline.

@tek holy shit, that is incredible!!!
@tek when I was in my early 20's, my girlfriend had lost her mother to the disease. She was understandably terrified to take the gene test to learn if she was going to develop Huntington's, too. It didn't run in my family, but if it did, would I want to know if I had it? It's a dominant gene, so just having the gene pretty much guaranteed disease development sooner or later. With this new treatment, hopefully it's a lot later. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻
BTW it seems like we're close to curing HIV as well
@tek This has surely got to be Nobel Prize-worthy work.

@tek cure will probably soon be banned.

But seriously, great! Isn't Huntingtons an autoimmune disease?

@tek

This is amazing news. My uncle had this disease and ultimately passed away from complications of it. It's effecting a couple of my cousins on that familial line as well, so hopefully this will bring some relief to them.

@tek

The tumult is billionaires trying to take all the wonderful.for themselves, its theft, and not even leaving vaccines.

Billionaires have hired racists to bang bang bang on our democracies. All our democracies.

Its time to say no.

@tek You're right. Maybe some people will ask themselves, 'Why'm I voting for people who are AGAINST good progress?'
So we should celebrate and boost.
