Skeletal evidence unearthed in the 1950s suggests giants were real, but this history may have been suppressed. Is science as dogmatic as religion? #giants #history #skeletons #anthropology #science #dogma #ancientorigins
Discoveries of unusually large skeletons often spark debate. Some see evidence of ancient giants, while others point to misinterpretations or outright hoaxes. It’s a fascinating clash between science, mythology, and entrenched beliefs.
@ancientorigins
A homonin species from a couple million years ago, Homo erectus, would have qualified as a giant, but they died out or evolved into Homo heidelbergensis, who became Homo neanderthalensis and the denisovans (who haven’t been officially designated as a subspecies yet, although that could happen soon. The problem there is the lack of enough fossils to do a canonical description. Genetic evidence suggests it to be the case, but paleo anthropologists are stodgy buggers.)
@ancientorigins such #BS #Anthropologists have found remains of humans larger than average—some over 7 feet #tall—but these are rare and within the spectrum of medical conditions.#Science
