@wurzelmann That's like me and the Great Spotted Woodpecker! Never have seen one, but I fangirl every time I see a photo. And then send it to my sister so we can fangirl together.
@faerye oh yes, they are great! We have some in the yard and they always show their little ones where to find food, how to climb the trees and stuff, so cute!
@wurzelmann Oh, I love that! Hairy woodpeckers often bring their youngsters to my parents’ yard, and it’s so funny to watch them when the parent is still feeding them by beak but they’re exactly the same size!
@faerye hahaha, exactly! Sometimes the young ones look even bigger than their parents, but then they start flapping their wings and to beg and you know it's just a huge baby!
