#Australia's #ABC cut from #Trump press conference

On Tuesday, a testy exchange between Australian broadcaster #ABCAmericas editor #JohnLyons & Trump at the White House went viral.

An ABC spox said on Thursday it learned it will no longer have a spot at the Trump-Starmer #press conference later.

The broadcaster said it was told the change of plans was due to *logistical* reasons.

Lyons says he is from #ABC & Trump says, "...You're hurting Australia right...in my opinion, you are hurting Australia very much right now. And they want to get along with me. Your leader is coming over to see me very soon. I'm going to tell them about you, you set a very bad tone."

@dropbear @Nonilex the truly alarming thing is that it isn't universal. I've an acquaintance who follows conservative commentators, and some of them have hundreds of thousands of followers here. The poison has started to spread here. It's deeply worrying. Hopefully our systems are robust enough to protect democracy here.
