Example of how broken journalism is these days. I got an email from a PR agency saying that for $700, they'd include me in an MSN article titled "Top 5 Health Experts Transforming the Way We Live in 2025." I pointed out that, although their lousy analytical tool clearly picked up my posts about COVID, I am NOT a "health expert" and do not qualify for inclusion.

I kid you not, their response was for the same amount, they'd include me in their β€œTop 5 Leading Men” spotlight. πŸ™„

@augieray For $10,000 you might not have published this toot about what malicious money-grubbing looks like today.
@aka_quant_noir Wait, is that an offer? Venmo me, and I'll delete the post! πŸ˜‚
@augieray You should have asked the PR flack for the money. I want to see the name of the agency in a screenshot. ;)

You have what Monarez has, integrity

@augieray Gee, only $700, that's quite the bargain! Several years back, when I used to regularly write on a topic, I used to get several of these a year. (Though I was a professionally published expert for a couple decades at that point)

For the low, low price of $1500, I could be included in a list of experts no one trusts because we all know it's for pay!
