@en.ottawa.ca Maybe Ottawa can look at what other cities are doing to address this. Helsinki for example:

@asmaloney @en.ottawa.ca Maybe I've become more cynical, but I'm pretty sure many drivers think it's *our* faults if they hit us in crosswalks or bike lanes.

@WTL @en.ottawa.ca Yep. One of the times I was almost run over was on the corner of Laurier/Elgin where that woman was killed by a pickup a couple of months ago. Same scenario.

I've since been extra-careful. Had I been walking around like a phone zombie or otherwise distracted, I would have been run over.
