Do you know what #TomorrowsWorld never told me? That I'd get in from the pub and have to deal with the fact that the living room light switch has unpaired itself from the ceiling light. This is why I told Craig the sparky that I actually wanted switches. Not "smart" stuff.

🫀 I too, just an hour, ago had to pair my fan and light remote back to the unit in the bedroom.

It's one reason why I insisted the fan replacement for downstairs was fully wired. We lose the TV remotes enough that I didn't want to lose one more.

@quokka1 Rule no. zero for smart homes: make it so that everything continues to work with the manual controls.

(Which with my central heating meant installing a new physical switch allowing me to disconnect the automatics in case they latched "on".)
