Resistance to the project has been heating up all summer as government approvals have been issued and construction work is expected to begin in the fall of 2025. "I like to imagine how potent solidarity could be if it didn’t wait for repression, but if it happened in response to resistance. When one community throws down, another recognizes the importance and urgency of the situation and steps up to have their back. This could spread to become something truly uncontrollable and have some remarkable opportunities."
