Just watched the finale of Foundation season 3. I have to say, I love this show. I've read all of Asimov's Foundation and Robot series, so I’m very aware of the differences. And honestly? I enjoy both for different reasons.
The show takes the core ideas from the books and does its own thing. But it keeps what matters most: scale. Can one person shape the universe? Are masses predictable? Can a small group topple an Empire? The show explores all of it, brilliantly.
Season 2 was a bit confusing at times, especially for viewers unfamiliar with the books. But season 3 is much clearer. It’s still wild and visually stunning, but feels more focused. The finale delivers a big reveal and leaves you hungry for more.
It’s clear the writers studied the books deeply. They’ve captured Asimov’s big ideas and built something that works beautifully for TV. Honestly, this might be one of the best modern sci-fi shows out there.
Also, Apple TV+ is killing it with science fiction lately. Foundation, Silo, For All Mankind, Severance, they’re on a roll. Serious genre fans should be paying attention.
No spoilers, but Foundation S3 is excellent, and so is its finale. Action-packed, cerebral, dark, and compelling. Some fans complain it’s not faithful to the books… I strongly disagree.
Asimov’s characters were mostly plot devices, not written for performance. His work wasn’t meant to be copied, it was meant to be adapted. Transformed. And this show absolutely nails that.
