My usual blanket pattern is a monogrammed blanket out of Erika Knight's "Simple Knits for Cherished Babies" and my usual yarn is Knit Picks Shine Worsted in a navy blue aptly named "French Blue". I will be doing something fancy and intarsia purling in the monogram in white.
I have completed 20 rows, and then it will be about 80 more rows before I start to purl in the Monogram.

I have completed 236 rows (had to go 2 short due to losing yarn chicken) it's a stockinette blanket with 5 st garter edges, 7 garter rows at ends.
Another photo after a machine wash and dry and nipping some of the fuzzy yarn-outs.
It is as soft as it looks and hopefully will neither pill nor thin after many more machine washes as babies are leaky.
The hope is this becomes a totem but I'm also alright if it gets destroyed/lost/forgotten as babies/children/young-to-middle-aged adults are allowed to do what they want with their gifts.
