My #transgender daughter found out today that all the hate she has been getting is because someone is posting her info to #kiwifarms. As usual, no one can do anything about it. For over 5 years now, she and I have had to endure almost daily death threats, #harassment, #stalking, and people urging us to kill ourselves. They have #swatted us, threatened to blow up our #church, shoot up our church, rape my daughter and my wife.

I reached out to #Anonymous and they refused to respond. Likely because it is being organized by one of their members. After all, they are #homophobic and #transphobic.

These people will never stop. They want us dead and they will continue until they succeed. And all the while “good people” stand by and watch it happen without a single ounce of care or concern. After all, it’s not their child being targeted. It’s not their family in the crosshairs. It’s not their church or place of work being endangered. So why should they care?

So many liberals and progressives have told me to just “ignore them” and they would “just go away.” Five years and counting and they are still coming after us. So that doesn’t work!

As one of the very few #LGBTQIA affirming and supportive churches in #Augusta GA, we have resisted the call to close from those who say it is “just too dangerous” to be a safe space for the community. But I am starting to wonder if maybe it is time to just give up. Just to go into hiding and let everyone fend for themselves. After all, no one gives a shit about us and the sacrifices we have made for the last 5 years.

Sigh.

But like an idiot, we will keep doing what we do. Helping others while drowning in debt to do it. Sacrificing our safety to make sure others are safe. Standing on the front lines to protect our LGBTQIA, #immigrant, #female, and #black friends and family.
