Day 23 in Berlin.

Finally caved and bought a bike suitable for city transport, a KTM Veneto. This rig is uncomfortably different from what I'm used to, but the practicalities of city usage. It's OK, I'll adjust (and probably keep some knobbier tires on hand for trail outings).

This place is beautiful.

@cemerick Berlin is top of my list of cities to move to if i had to leave where i live now
@cemerick This looks like a fine city bike 😊 There are many good rides just outside town, most of which do not require more robust tires!

@jack Oh yeah, it'll do nicely.

As for trails, well, these city tires would be spectacularly treacherous in the context of my typical/previous mountain-biking proclivities. 😆 As I say, I'll adjust.

@cemerick My favorite city in the world. I’ve dreamed of being able to settle there for decades.
@curtosis I regret not doing it N years earlier.

@cemerick It’s the gainful employment (or retirement income route) that’s the sticky wicket for me.

(Which is probably telling me I’m not serious enough about it. Food for thought. Which makes me want a Döner.)

@curtosis I strongly doubt you'd have a hard time here on the employment front. If you have an inclination, best to decide sooner rather than later, before the easy on-ramps are closed (even for people with tech skills).

(I've been so pleasantly surprised on the food front: obviously fantastic MENA cuisine, but the Korean/Vietnamese/Thai scene is hella strong, and the domestic bench past the usual schnitzel fare is deeper than I knew)
