Absolutely infuriating that Proton Pass only allows password imports *via a browser extension* and not in ANY of their applications. This isn’t just inconvenient—it’s risky. People have to transfer unencrypted files across devices, risking leaks. And what about users who *only* have a phone? They’re forced to manually retype every password. Not everyone on the planet has money for a laptop, especially in third world countries. #Proton #ProtonPass #passwordmanagers

I'll remotely consider recommending proton pass as something other than an ecosystem trap... when they support exports.
@blacklight447 Proton has a serious focus problem. They keep introducing low priority features while ignoring major holes in their offering. They still don't have any working document / spreadsheet editing solution! I bought in after they acquired standard notes, expecting that functionality to be integrated and they didn't do it.

@blacklight447 I did it for the smartphone desktop mode in Brave. The information to import is well hidden, and to export as well. I had to export 2FA from Proton Lass Pro ready Auth because I stopped paying and couldn't use my 2FA.
@blacklight447 Proton are noticeably slow at releasing applications and features, particularly for Linux users, which is disappointing considering their focus on privacy and the price structure. I have tried their products once a year or so but very little changes to encourage me to switch, so I stick with my self-hosted solutions. Their VPN product is excellent, however.

That issue with importing passwords is disappointing. I'm almost all in on Proton but have seen no reason to leave Bitwarden.

I'm happy enough with mail, VPN and calendar.

I strongly agree with the critiques of Drive on Linux.

I was really excited when they announced Docs as I was hoping for a Google Workspace replacement but that seems to have stalled.

I'm not ready to jump ship or anything, but if a feature for feature competitor came along I'd sure listen.
