Background: I'm a professional inpatient hospital pharmacist (night shift). During the first two years of the ongoing #pandemic, I read approximately 200 articles on #COVID19 and related topics, the vast majority of them professional medical-journal literature. I now read #COVID19 articles only occasionally, since the overall picture is now clear.

In 2020, I spoke with two physicians at my hospital, who were already hinting that they might soon be able to give up masking. I replied: "I don't think this will last 20 years, but if it does, I'll still be wearing a mask 20 years later." I've now made good on the first 5 years of that. I'm now the only worker at my hospital, in any role, who routinely masks; and the masks I wear are N95s.
