I’ve had my boat in Bath for three days and two people have recognised me and said hello.

This sounds innocuous but I’ve almost cried twice.

I’ve not lived anywhere for 8 years.

Not had anyone recognise me on the street and say hello since 2018 in NYC.

It’s not happened in Bath since 2008.

Literally just walking down the road and a friend came out of his coffee shop for a natter.

Had one of the Warleigh Woods neighbors cycle by the boat and ask how the land purchase was going.

I have had no community for so long. It’s why I posted so much for years.

I’ve been alone.

Now I’m home.

@Philsturgeon welcome home! Please listen to your heart, looking after oneself will always be the better choice than sacrificing oneself. There is no reason why you can't do good by being good to yourself and a reason why Audre Lorde's #radicalselfcare is so big in movements like Black Lives Matter
@sheislaurence thank you!! I am focusing on doing good at home now. I’m cleaning rubbish out of the river in my kayak. In removing invasive species from the river with chainsaw and machete. I get to do good and be good which hasn’t both happened for so long:
