What distro would you recommend (and why) to non tech windows users looking to switch because of $recentEvents?

I found myself a bit puzzled by this question recently. Have been running arch for more than a decade now, but this is not something I would recommend to a "regular" windows user. Years ago ubuntu would have been the answer I would give, but nowadays? Fedora?

@pulsar I have heard good things about SilverBlue but have not tested it. Guess I should.
Ubuntu still seems ok if you replace snap with flatpak, esp. for Firefox (which kinda defeats the purpose again) [source: coworker who installed last week]
