A new mural by Banksy was discovered on Monday on a building belonging to the Royal Courts of Justice in London. The artwork depicts a judge in a traditional white wig raising his gavel against a protester, who shields himself with a blood-smeared placard. According to British media, the mural is seen as a response […]
I was thinking cosplayers reenacting the piece at protests would be a funny and pointed statement.

Police partout, justice nulle part.
Now most passers-by will more easily be able to spot the face of Jesus. </sarcasm >
ALT-text properly updated thx to @dbrand666.

An image of Frank Zappa behind his quote:
The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.
with a parody of alt text attached.
Thx for the help, @dbrand666, just added your ALT-text proposal properly.
👍
@admin, as this Zappa quote was inserted from our about friendica TOS page, to have it always at hand if necessary, can you please look if it's possible to add it over there too?
Actually, while we are at it, maybe this one of the about page fit's too:
A genius. We weren't worthy
@streetartutopia it's funny how truth obviously offends some. Says something about some.
We need more Banksy and truth at (designated) places where it doesn't get removed.
@streetartutopia If the English Arts Council have any balls at all, they will pay Banksy to paint it right back in exactly the same place, and apply to the court for an injunction to prevent further vandalism of a public artwork.

They erased Banksy’s mural in London — just like they erase Gaza’s story every day.
Starmers utterly disgusting,
Genocide Supporting Labour Party
does not want their esteemed Israeli Arms Fair or Ministerial Guests to see or hear of any protests.
Money from Israel and Israel and Genocide friendly persons paid a lot to get Labour in power.
Now the corrupt and spineless are paying their debt.
If that one on the left is the "erased" version, the government didn't do itself any favors when it comes to avoiding criticism for the suppression of expression.
I wanted to say that the Internet will not forget, but then #osa ...
We live in #1984
It is an involuntary derivative art work!
BTW, does Banksy put his art under a specific license? If yes, maybe this license can make illegal to dispose (or change) the artwork…
@voxel @streetartutopia
It's waaaaay worse than that.
In Dante Alighieri's Inferno, violence against art is a sin punished in the seventh circle of Hell alongside violence against God and Nature.
Just sayin'.
@voxel @clintruin @streetartutopia Does just the fact that it’s illegal matter for any sane discourse? It was illegal to leave East Germany without permission. It’s illegal to insult Erdoğan in Turkey.
At the same time, as I understand it, it’s in theory illegal to do Nazi things in Germany today, but since Nazis are walking around unpunished, is it really illegal in practice?

I think so.

I'm unaware.
@streetartutopia
It's now somehow more "complete". 🤔
Everyone knows the piece of art already.
And now it shows even how "the politicians" are handling such art.
They couldn't cover up or even erase this #banksy as they can't cover up the fact a genocide is happening or their complicity either.
And that's why i love #banksy s art.
It even includes the (way to) predictable reaction of the targeted as a part of his art.
They somehow made it more striking / gave it a more elusive and menacing feel.
Well done assholes :D
@streetartutopia
In addition to being an attack on cultural heritage!
¡Además de ser un atentado contra el patrimonio cultural!
I'm buoyed by the shadowy remnants left behind and the proliferation of these images online.
They think they can silence dissent in this way, but their erasers (rubbers for you lot) turn out to be megaphones.
Yeah, that won’t work.
Yet the inherent truth lives on as an after image...
