Last weekend was our Cub & Scout Camp. The first joint residential event since I started.

The first evening was mostly about getting settled in.

The next day our Young People made paracord items, did leather work (woggle making) and had sessions of tomahawks and archery.

That evening we had a campfire with songs & S’mores. Each night had wide games in the dark.

The final morning was basically packing up, so naturally it rained for a bit.

I’m super grateful to the Scout Leaders for the planning, organising and running the Camp. And for inviting the Cubs. Also for the parents who came to help.

I made myself useful where I could, be that keeping the toilets clean or helping the youngsters with the paracord and leather woggle making.

And I finally had my first S’more!

@hischeekiness I just had one last weekend too!
@hischeekiness out of interest, what wide games did you play?
@zorrobandito Nothing unusual. The basics. Manhunt and Capture the Flag.
@hischeekiness CTF I know well but Manhunt? How does that one go?
@zorrobandito I think that it’s known by other names, as what I’ve looked up isn’t quite what was played and basically described Hide and Seek in a large area with lots of individuals. This is close, but not the same. There is a “base”, a team which goes hunting for the others and they have to spot the others and call them out at the base. Or those hiding have to beat them to the base and call themselves safe. It wasn’t called that when I was a child, but I can’t remember what it was called.
