@tailscale My fresh Linux Mint 22.2 installation is an “illegal number” for your install script, eh?

We’ll just see about that! 😜

Seriously, though, if y’all haven’t had a look at #Tailscale yet, you’re missing out! I was never able to successfully get my #homelab self-hosted until Tailscale made it DEAD EASY. Now I can achieve the dream of having my own #PersonalCloud and put an end to Apple reaching into my wallet every month.

@RockyC happy you're enjoying it! for what you mentioned about the install script, was there a specific message you got back fromm it? Linux Mint should definitely be supported by the script and I tried it out on 22.2 without any problems, but maybe there's something else amiss that we can patch up!

@erisa As soon as I ran the script, the “illegal number” message appeared in reference to “22.2,” so I assumed it was about the version number of the OS.

Is there a log of the install script somewhere that I can view?

@RockyC if you run it through bash -x you should get which commands its running as well as the output, which is much more helpful. if you could share that with me directly or to support(at)tailscale(dot)com i'd appreciate it so I can have a look where thats throwing that
@RockyC also, despite that message, does it still succeed?
@RockyC looking at the script and their os-release it looks like we're probably making the bold assumption that VERSION_ID is always an integer?
@erisa Oh, it succeeded fine. Would I need to uninstall and reinstall it to see the error again?
@RockyC rerunning should reach the right code without needing to uninstall, but i think i've got it now anyway! thank you though

@erisa Happy to help!

Do you perhaps have any ideas how I can get Joplin to sync successfully to a locally hosted server through Tailscale? My Joplin logs just say “Network Request Failed.”
