@Tutanota in the 5 minutes i gave to your call i couldn't find how to help.
I looked into the YouTube video (I don't like to be directed to big tech media) but that didn't look like instructions how to take action.
What did I miss?
Fight Chat Control - Protect Digital Privacy in the EU

Learn about the EU Chat Control proposal and contact your representatives to protect digital privacy and encryption.

@danie1 @Tutanota Came here to say this. What's the point of writing an article like that if you don't tell people what to actually do?
@Tutanota Ergh, can't believe my country is in favor
@Tutanota From every security hole, no matter how well meant, the criminals will profit most. What is next? Should i leave my backdoor unlocked so that the police can enter more easily when there is a burglar in my home? No, the burglars will profit most of the open door.

@Tutanota

We'll keep seeing this garbage submitted every few years, again and again.

We see similar in the USA as well.

The real answer is that we need to develop overlays on ALL our chats that introduce steganography. Hide our real discussions in plain sight.

Its only time till they get this garbage passed in some form. So might as well assume they'll see it all, and shift the fight to a different level.

@Tutanota I have always considered myself an European but EU is becoming an instrument of mass control. Chat control now and wait for the digital euro from European central bank. And this is going to be probably extended to emails, cloud... We need to find alternatives out of US and out of EU.

@Tutanota , wait a minute, when did #Slovenia change from opposing to undecided?

Do we need to push (again)?

@hook Maybe that's our mistake, sorry about that!
@Tutanota , both that or a change of heart in our gov is possible.
@Tutanota, nope, it seems my info was outdated/wrong. It seems Slovenia is indeed still an undecided territory.

@Tutanota the most important part is to make such #Cyberfascism impossible to #enforce by going out of one's way to "#EncryptHarder"!

If we solely rely on #TechIlliiterates & #Cyberfascists like #Zensursula from @EUCommission to concede and apologize we might just give up already (pretty shure she has not apologized to @MOGiS to this day!)

  • The only way we can guarantee our #inalienable #HumanRights ist be making them truly inalienable and letting politicans know said rights are as non-negotiable as the ban on "#DeathPenalty" aka. State-endorsed murder!
@Tutanota So glad Finland is on the correct side regarding this legislation! Worried about Estonia, tho.
@kenjen @Tutanota I'm very surprised Estonia aren't against given their cyber security reputation.
@Tutanota Honestly, I think the importance of this is overrated. In country where I voted for EU representatives (Latvia) police can do anything they want anyway. It's not always court-admissible, but that's not really important either, because they can do anything they want with or without courts. Only laws of physics there.
Besides, it's such an outdated technology.
@Tutanota what can people sho aren't EU citizens or residents do to help?
@perksofbeingben You can still reach out to legislators - the more the better! And how would they know where you are from. ;)
@Tutanota cool! Any recommendations for who to reach out to, or how to reach out if my phone plan doesn't support international calls?

@Tutanota

Same procedure as last year?
Same procedure as every year,. James!

In case "#chatcontrol" will, when in place, help to suppress opposition or critics in case ever forces like AfD or other anti-democratic folks come to power.

@Tutanota geebus France. Your job is to protest your government and your letting them control you for it?
