This new thread will contain random stuff I have in mind for Star Ryde and maybe other ideas for Galaxy Glyde too, at this point my brain is full with plot Bunny's and I really want to share a bit of it beyond the prompt games. Language may very between English and German but I try to keep it mostly English.

Since Mondira Ramann only exists thanks to the prompts anyway, besides her name, I think it may be fitting do develop her here further.

Often shortened to Mon, Mondi rarely Dira or Dori sometimes mistaken for Monica/Monika.

The name itself is relative new only exists for a bit over 75 years.
It's origin is bad translation of an Somwhar name. Especially in the beginning the translation of Somwhar language was difficult.

Because for a translation to make Sense a lot of Knowledge has to be gathered, without Shakespeare most people

2/x will not understand what you mean calling someone a Romeo. Now multiply this idea by things that are clear to us like ground, air, human are all concepts we basically understand thanks to our internalized knowledge through our human society. We learn from childhood on what the ground is, what earth can mean. For the Somwhar it wasn't so clear. In their first translations it simply referred to dirt.
A lot of work had to be done and a lot of mistakes where made. Still today only the main Somwhar dialect can be easily translated into Union Standard despite them being a core member world for more than 50 years.

The original name is not speakable do to our set-up of vocal cords and lip usage, in case of the Somwhar their "lips" to articulate sit in their throat, around the area where Terrans/Humans have their larynx, thus Somwhar

3/x have the ability to speak with closed or a full mouth as long their nostrils aren't blocked, in theory they als can keep prey in their fangs while speaking.

The name originally stood for their concept of their 2 moons & their sun. It's a long tragic love story between them. Basically the sun lost her partner moon to another moon partner & now the two moons dance in their home while the sun happy for their moon partner but als sad to do her loss & now being alone visits every day, keeping her distance, singing to the children of her loved moon so they may never feel alone.

Mond di Ra/Luna die Ra was the first translation that came out of the attempts do to Terran standard being mostly constructed of shorter words and concepts that broadly mean the same.

So her name could be interpreted as the Sun sings to the moon children.

Kira smiled:"that's the point," she looked at Arkham, "she is the first of her kind in my life, she deserves to leave her mark and that's what we both decided on."

Arkham wasn't so secure in her answer but not less determined:" Slimer... but I never had someone like you before & I always wanted one, but I had no real reason, or at least I thought so."

Kira smirked:"Careful Imzadi you may gotta like it and before you realize it, your hooked."

"Arkham this might be painful especially with your sensitivity," the doctor said.

"We try it and if I can't handle it we take a break."

Doctor Waberi sterilized her gloves, grabbed the Tattoo needle & activated the sterile field.
Arkham first clenched her teeth before curling up her right hand. For her it felt like a thousand hot needles but she wanted it. Kira softly touched her face. Looking her lover in the eyes. As Arkham saw this two different colored gems she relaxed. The initial pain went away a mild burning remained only broken by a pinching second every know & than. Kira didn't broke the sight once? Arkham wondered if she ever saw her blinking before. Her eyes came close to it but she didn't shut them completely.
A sharp sting shot through Arkham's arm, she yelled before she felt Kiras face close to her own. "Are you okay? Need a break?"
Arkham had tears in her eyes as she hissed through her teeth:"A short one would be great."
Doc Waberi stopped after cleaning away some blood & ink.
"No problem, we are almost done let's have a break."

Kira smiled:"I started before I realized you where already asleep so I stoped watching."
"You didn't stopped watching me a moment ago, do you ever blink? You know it's a sign for bad programed androids if they don't blink?"

"You are the first that does this for me, it felt right to keep my eyes on you." Kira smiled a bit awkwardly.
"I felt more like you tried to strip me nacked with this eyes of yours." Arkham pointed her tongue out.
Kira's voice sounded distant & low
"All I would strip from you is your soul to consume you in a fire of lust & passion." She signed that statement with her own tongue.
Arkham felt the blood rush to her head & other body parts.

A feeling of a certain dread crept over them like the moment one realizes WHAT ones caretakers may actually know about you...

If the blood wasn't already in her head Arkham would have blushed. She emptied the mug of water. As the doc said it only took a few minutes longer.

Kira and Arkham swept places. Arkham holding her hand up and looking to this new addition to her body. A tiny Panda who looked like it wanted to hug someone.
She looked at Kira & to her shock she was already finished.

"What the swex? How are you two so quick" She looked disturbed. Kira smiled: "Time is relative I just relaxed, enjoyed & it gets super easy."

Kira jumped from the seat, launching herself towards the Flight Commander slung her left arm around Arkham's waist and lifted her up gently, her right hand grabbing her lovers hand, folding their arms til the hands rested on their cheeks.

Two pandas hugging each other as long both hands kept closed around each other.

Kira's voice was gentle.
"Imzadi, this is my promise I will protect you, I will always be there for you and if the universe takes us apart I'll find you even if I have to burn it down on my path."

"No." Arkham said. "You are not a destroyer, promise me that you keep others from feeling pain, I can wait for you, if necessary until the end of time."

So instead of writing on Star Ryde I try for the 600x (slight over exaggeration) to design the ship.
If I weren't so tight on money I probably would ask ship artists on the web if I ever find them outside of deviant art since I don't use it anymore. Well I have more precise ideas today than ever before & struggle with this since the earliest incarnations of Star Ryde. If the Ideas can work out, I have no forking idea.
At least it will help to describe the Ghoz'Tarc better. It's not a giant ship but way bigger than an Airbus A380. I guess, slightly under 10 decks probably 7 or 6 and a "half"
Some acces tunnels to get to the drives. She is capable of atmospheric flight but not really aero dynamic. Planetside landing as long the gravity doesn't gets to high.
At one point I even made a disillusioned remark that the ship is just the A-Team van in space bashed into the Knight Rider...

Since the novel doesn't progress as much as I wish to & for the time being, a big part of it exists here in the Mastodon/Fediverse, I just came to the conclusion that the instances, of the Star Ryde Multiverse, exist as thick but flat universes on the back of a billion Mastodons (one at least named John) which stand on the back of a gigantic creature named Great T'pebell. I guess it's an Ouroboros...

Until I revise this in any finished book.😅

Damn I wanted to be productive and write something if I couldn't sleep tonight instead I sorted through the survivng Backups of Star Ryde and other stories to eliminate double or triplets (I'm sure I missed dozens) without loosing any steps.

First time that I ever mentioned Kira Knox (at that point Kira Knox Shepard) was in 2015, at least the file was created in January of that year, in a document Galaxy-(????)

"Ma'am your are living for 10+ years, for free in my head, I would appreciate if you would at least motivate me more to get you out of my head into the real world."

For the life of my I can't remember when I did the first worldbuilding stuff that elevated it from a Mass Effect × Star Trek Crossover Fanfiction into more. So many stuff I totally forgot in the mean time, first draft of the crew had only 10 People.

A list of fictional bands, advice how to imitate Talithi language, religious groups I completely forgot about.

So today I planned to write something and I actually did but not as I expected, my timeline for the Star Ryde Universe was off several years after the new additions through the WIP and the Mastodon Prompts so I had to fix that and I found some very weird feeling old trials... Kiras brain damage wasn't do to an Eltaryn attack but do to a rock slide on a Eltha'ni world where she fought some Tanith rebels...
And I totally forgot that the sentient plant species was essential for the Unions development and even had a name. The Vol.
They refused to join as full members despite being responsible for improving on EPI, Cepi and biological material fusion...
Well they became the first associated members.
And in the far future of 2500 they may even succeed in creating a mobile hybrid that could work on ships together with other species.
But Ashley instead of Ashlei und Anika being named Alex feels weird.

Terra Unika the religious, spiritual or philosophical "Guidance" of Terra.

I'm thinking aot about how the transformation from Humans to Terrans happened in Star Ryde.

I think in its core the movement, despite being involved in some grey stuff is a peaceful movement but not necessarily a pacifist one, driven by the looming threat of extinction and total collapse of earth, driven by a global society that ran for far to long on more and more consumption of resources. I Star Ryde we failed as a global society, driven by elitist movements that wanted their liberation above all else especially others that don't share their values, Terra Unika rose from empathy but also anger, a deeply emotional but clear calculation that we as a species can not progress the way we do, believe in values and upholding them is as important as fighting for them. The Terran Manifest was one step of many, outlining➡️

⬅️ what it would need to succeed in a world thats land mass shrunk significantly, thats environment turned more hostile than we can imagine today.
The Terran Manifest gave a promise that we can and will endure and can recreate a world thought lost, if we only unite against the threats, not for a salvation in afterlife but in this life, a call to action, a call for mindfulness but also a promise of safety and participation, of having a place, of being accepted into the middle of others united as equals with the best ethics and morals humanity has to offer. Salvation not through believing but through enacting it's ideals & fight "the good fight." Fair treatment for everyone who not act against the interest of our species and fair chances for the ones that fell, united hand in hand, building a better now & a better tomorrow.

Drops of salty water ran down her cheeks.
The pale moon throw it's dim light onto the roof, thick dark clouds covered the sky quickly.
It started to rain, cold dirty drops soaking into everything in seconds, if it wasn't for her augmented Body she would probably would have started shaking soon. A shiver ran over her spine, as her coat soaked in the water. She remembered this was her reality not her sanctum. This wasn't where she wanted to be but where she belonged. She closed her eyes and looked to the sky as long drops of water hit her skin, she bowed over covering her face with her hands. Shaking she stood up, shook her hair and went over to the door across the roof, she didn't hurry at least the cold water distracted her thoughts from all that what was going on. Quietly the door went open. The staircase down was dark.

They have this incredibly tasty dried Chocol fish skin flakes that are covered in the Chocol fat. They aren't real fish like you would see on Ear... sorry Terra. They have a lot in common with snakes, they share their skin every 3 Months so basically every 87 days. It's ment to be food and shelter for their eggs and hatchlings but Chocols have an incredible reproductive rate & since we accidentally killed off their natural predator... so as an act of keeping the balance, the Endorians collect hatcheries, clean them and sell them on the market. Star Ryde Working on the Ice Queen today finding out why she was so cold to Kira and where the reason comes from. I guess the emotional baggage sums up to a lot of Drama related to Kira's biological parents. A oneside love maybe some not mutual changes in life? The ideas are floating around for quite some time by now but I never pinned down what it exactly was. #StarRyde #SciFi #WIP

It's s curse not a magical one of course but genetics, family ties and emotional one she doesn't handles well.

How much Backstory for a character is to much? She isn't ment for a spot light any time soon but I think 2 sheets with around 800 words a better than none especially now she finally has a full name.

Okay honestly it's nice to know the exact Backstory of Star Ryde's Ice queen but if my brain don't stop I end up writing her ENTIRE story before I finish Star Ryde...
On top, with that much of family ties and coincedence, it's almost gets to a unbelievable level (even for me and I'm writing that stuff so... duh...) like some sort of Korean Pop Drama meets Murder Mystery Series...
Remember the scene from Spaceballs where Dark Helmet tells Lonestar about "their family ties"? That level of *shrugs*

Now with timestamps like X-Files.
As it seems the logic thing is to expand the first set of events into different chapters beyond the second. That means that I'm now in 2307 that will be only a scene in the past but set up a bit of the world & apparently their will now some generational time skips in the WIP.
Or I set up a Prologue?🤔
With my snails pace I'm not very keen on the idea but it won't destroy everything only explain a little bit more, which shouldn't be a bad thing.

Shipwreck, if it gets even bigger I really have to think about splitting it in books & care about publishing (after all the other fine stuff).
Sadly my RPG-DM brain is in Ultra Stress Mode & now demands cleaned-up source material like timeline, maps, etc, switching to chapter(book?) centric WIP's & to not make any lore mistakes (that's ridiculous I am the lore writing person nothing is released other than here the WIP related answers).

Dragula/Dracula DRAG-ULA/DRAC-ULA DRAG(n)-ULA/DRAC(n)-ULA Dedicated Re- Acquaintance Galaxynetwork ???/ Combinenetwork??? - User ??? License ??? Agreemen ??? Founded as something like the Fediverse on a galaxy spanning level by Robert Zeffran Ombye, with the intend to keep social bonds over light-years of distance. Commonly referred to as the DRAG/DRAC. some cheesy advertisement like "get DRAGged/DRACged in and stay in contact" The ULA would come into play at a different point long after the Drag/Drac is introduced & maybe a hint to its creator at a completely different point. Making it sound like an accidental thing. One of the weeker skills Arkham has is driving cars, at least in the near Rim colony she lived in as a child/teen.
One reason is, that car manufacturer are stuck in the past of the earlier 2020, they literally degenerated from usefull vehicles to get from A to B into individualistic design nightmares, that claim 'to reinforce the user expirience & strengthen the emotional bond.'
Basically a gimmick driven Idiocracy. Cars only survived do to their manufacturing companies pulling idiotic licensing stunts from the Rim territory. Like licensing lower developed variants of existing Shuttles & Hovers for colonies with less supervision.
It's easier to learn to control any hover, any stinger/zinger or shuttle than to get two cars, even from the same manufacturer, with the same controls or any logical design.*
Luckily Arkham never tried to get into car racing & prefers space.

*Similarities to existing vehicle manufacturing companies are intentional.

Lov'po'esiton or Lov'po'zin have a very Lovecraftian sound.

Or "Carter" which implies a relationship with Randolf Carter of the "Dream Quest" stories. Or Pickman, which has darker connotations.

@NaraMoore for a Pickman reference, I would come up with a person with an artistic hobby thanks to the Pickman reference in Fallout 4.

A serial killer that only kills raiders and uses their blood and body parts to create Artworks with disturbing pictures.

Carter has so many options to be a reference to several stories. It could be a reference to Samantha Carter in Stargate.

I think I will juggle a bit with the names til I find the solution appropriate.

The Pickman I was referencing was a human who is friends with Randolf Carter. He eventually becomes a ghoul and the leader of nightgaunts.

The other Carter reference that comes to my mind is John Carter, The MC in Edgar Rice Burrough's Mars stories.

A couple of years ago, I was writing a Lovecraft pastiche I seriously read through the complete works again.

@NaraMoore sounds like a good time to me, if we take out some stuff that didn't aged as well.
I listen to some German Audiobooks almost every evening about the main Cthulhu Mythology.
Need to have a look into what I have left here after my Backup drive died on me, or what I can find with the amount of money I have atm. :)
