Anyone else having issues with Spotlight in macOS 26 beta? Mine is refusing to find apps, completely undermining my productivity, because I mostly use it as an app launcher.
@drewmccormack it does that to me, too. Annoyingly it finds all the apps on my iPhone and then launches them via iPhone mirroring

@simsaens @drewmccormack i’ve been seeing spotlight BS for years but after the most recent Sequoia update it just stopped funding apps. or funding them, but only after a significant delay.

and occasionally i find that xcode indexing or spotlight indexing is consuming several cpus completely. but never seems to complete the task.

all super frustrating.

@drewmccormack

You did wait the usual three days for the giant Spotlight index to be updated to the (completely unnecessary!) new database format?

But yeah, probably just anyother new bug. There are so many.

@drewmccormack had this issue as well, would only find phone apps. Rebooted and it worked again
@drewmccormack I've seen that with a number of builds pre-Tahoe ass well. Most of the time, I trigger #AlfredApp and I can launch everything I need from there.
@drewmccormack I’ve had that problem for years and years now. Nothing new on Tahoe specifically unfortunately 😞
@drewmccormack
Spotlight has been spotty with launching apps for years now. Probably because there is one corrupt file somewhere between the millions of files on my desktop. Like Pieter I use a separate App launcher which is lightning fast instead of the usual several seconds delay of Spotlight.
