1/2 It feels like forever since I was working on the pond, even though it's only been a week.

The bottom plumbing is now officially done. I drilled holes into the intake pipe for the main pond return pump.

Then I used some 3-D printed replicas of the fittings to go onto the pump to hook it up.

2/2 Then it was time to decide exactly how to create the manifold to direct the return water back into the pond or into the filter. I decided that I wanted the manifold to be well within the pond liner in case anything was leaking so I cut the black tube and extended the PVC to meet it into the main area of the pond.

One valve goes to the bottom return sprayers. One valve goes to what will be sprayers along the long edge of the pond. And the last valve allows water to go into the filter.

Note to self: at least one of these valves must be open at all times if I don't want to blow up the pump :-)

@chris

What a job! It's going to look amazing.

We just dug and then rock-lined 2 dry creek beds ending in "ponds" for drainage and it was an amazing amount of work. Tried to work out how many tons of rocks we ultimately moved and gave up when the number got too big.

Great progress shots.

@czarbucks Ty! I am having these rocks brought in either on my own trailer or a larger truck so I have a good record of the weight! I’ll definitely tally it all up in the end!

@chris

It's amazing how much they weigh and the amount of work. We also built a "small" stacked stone wall around a maple tree on a slope.

Pick them up one at a time at the rock yard, put them in the truck. Take them from the truck, put them in the yard cart. Take them out of the yard cart, put them next to the site. Decide what goes where, stack and restack. Move them all again. Use adhesive, stack again.

@czarbucks so much moving!
