After having cleared both ears of the mahusive amount of built-up earwax within them and regained hearing, our right ear has decided to be a right git

It seems to have perceived the earwax being cleared as some kind of attack, so initiated inflammation protocols 🤦‍♀️ It is currently red, swollen, and sensitive, and producing a liquidy, waxy discharge, as if to try to build the blockage back up 😞

This has irritatingly mostly blocked the ear back up.

More annoyingly, however, the ear and associated area have become painful, so we're having to stay doped up on a strong cocktail of meds (paracetamol, naproxen, and codeine) to dull the pain, in addition to a decongestant (phenylephrine hydrochloride) and diazepam, to try to restore basic ability to function 🙃

Plus we're intermittently using a bit of soft tissue to mop up the liquidy discharge.

Really not a fan of our body right now, but very glad that we have strong painkillers and other meds of various classes.

Update: managed to get an appointment with GP surgery for someone to check this afternoon 🩷🤞
@SleepyCatten Sounds like it could well be an infection in need of antibiotics... Is seeing a doctor an option?😟

@substandard Reached out them digitally last night and the dumbarses told us to ring for an appointment 🤦‍♀️

Messaged them again this morning to advise why we cannot do that, and to request that they book one for us.

We'd book appointments online, but they've not enabled online booking.

@SleepyCatten Ugh. I'm sorry the health system is so screwed right now; it seems to be a global problem since Covid started.

@SleepyCatten oh no, that sounds awful 🫂

I hope you can get an appointment with your doctor soon 🤞
