Worked at the charity/ thrift shop with my mum today. Found a bunch of cool stuff.
I normally go though bags of donations and sort them out put them on the shop floor etc and some clothes come to us pretty stained and ripped.
I want to save things from landfill so I've saved some stained stuff and and working at getting the stains out.
I found a cardigan with a hole in and just mended it in 2 minutes.
It's not the best mend obviously but hey there's no hole now. I was going to do the mend in red thread but wanted it to stand out.
I normally bring home ripped jeans I find that would otherwise just be trashed and patch them up.
I also love how unique charity shop finds can be. Some stuff is handmade and and kinda personal, I always find handmade pottery which are obviously just what someone did as a school project.
Other stuff already has mending on too, I found a cool leather jacket that had stiching on which seemed to have fixed up a hole.
I like things that tell a story whether that be something handmade or something that has just been around for ages and has wear and tear.
