This is really stupid article. No wonder its author was not willing to sign it.

No, taxis, robo or not, aren't the pinnacle of civilisation. I haven't been in a cab for three years. Why would I, the public transport in Helsinki is convenient and reliable, I can easily get back home even in the middle of the night.

We don't need robotaxis clogging our streets, we need more and even better trams!

I wrote about it once: https://bylines.scot/opinion/the-self-driving-myth-why-autonomous-vehicles-are-stuck-in-traffic/

Robotaxis will be the Sputnik Moment for a declining Europe

A slow-motion car crash on Europe’s roads

The Economist

@TOrynski As a fan of tram systems, I recommend Episode 184 of Well Theres Your Problem:
https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=SQ7J1KgCSC8&list=PLnmst0j-3FuZ5Mx5GU45uPBvA_WNTBLWm&index=133

It covers the #EngineeringHistory around the rise and fall of laissez-faire #tram operators and manufacturing

@indieterminacy I listened this podcast about Smolensk plane crash and it was so terrible that I decided not to listen to other chapters. If they could not research one subject properly why should I trust on any other subjects?

@TOrynski Dunno, I assume they are a wider collection of engineering enthusiasts.

It could be there is a variance within their troupe or they fall into the trap of behaving like journalists.

I shall take on board what you are saying in any case - for me its educated entertainment and beyond my perview.

Got any better transport documentaries?
