@atpfm Regarding swollen batteries i Apple laptops; I think it is way more common than Siracusa suggests, or at least if used for more than a couple of years.
Most of my Mac laptops have ended up with swollen batteries, same for others around me. Like my moms and my sisters MacBook Airs. I had to order third party batteries and replace them. Getting the glued batteries out of my MacBook Pro took hours!
@atpfm I tried to use my phone with the Apple silicon case and without case at the beach and it does not make a difference. It simply does not work and definitely is not up to spec (in a proper engineering way. I am sure in a legalese/marketing way it must be compliant. That makes me mad)
@atpfm @marcoarment Razer laptops are notorious for bloated batteries. 2 years ago they added a max charging limit, which has worked for mine (knock on wood).
Also their Synapse software frequently breaks them. Personally I would never buy one again, there are plenty of companies out there with a better reputation.
@nicdou @siracusa the reason I said "I could read it" is because I have lived in a few French-speaking countries. Not Canada, but France and some others. It is a second language for me.
In English, I don't have to actively think about the meaning in New Orleans, Boston, Vancouver, or Toronto, even if it's a bit different. But I do have to work in London. Montreal is the same for me, only harder, because it is a second language.
@atpfm regarding the name for the new phone, my guesses apart from the iPhone Air:
iPhone 17s
(You know is slim, the know, but nobody woll confirm it)
The New iPhone
(Bizzare, but they did it with the iPad and we know them)
@atpfm I lost my Remarkable 2 tablet and I’m loathed to buy another one, especially since I have an M4 iPad Pro and pencil. I’m shocked there are no iPad apps that mimic the notebook-replacing simplicity and efficiency of the Remarkable software.
Would love it if you took at stab at it, @marcoarment. 🙂
